Description:

A glowing figure is seated in a dark corner. When you walk closer, you notice the figures eyes are moving while the rest of them stays still.  Its posture is hunched, and its red wax hands are leaning forward with its palms up, as if meant to be holding something or given something. The figures eyes watches its audience, watches you. It looks at you, then darts its eyes to a black book on the ground – with each dart becoming more strained and intense. Does it want you to open the book? If you choose to open the book, a conversation unfolds of the sculpture and the sculptor – the sculptor explains its original intent for the sculpture and the sculpture responds.

Concept:

Built on desperation, this sculpture was conjured into existence against its will and told what it should be. Unable to move or speak, all it could do was watch and accept its fate brought upon by its sculptor It knew what its sculptor wanted from it; they wanted them to be someone they miss – a lost loved one. The sculpture sympathised with the intent, but it could never be that person. The sculpture didn't have the lost ones essence, or appearance, or movement. When its sculptor tried to force their loved ones character onto them, it never worked. After realising this, its sculptor began looking at the sculpture as its own being, and realised they were cruel by forcing their own loss onto something that just became sentient, a being that could not move or speak. They conversed with each other (telepathically of course), and concluded that something was its own being, although we do not know who they are exactly.
